1. How can we book a room?
The best way to book a room is by checking and booking online to see available rooms and times. Book Now If you prefer to book by phone you can call us at 403-942-7555 to reserve a time. Please click here for group rates on bookings of 12 or more people.
2. What if I need to cancel my booking?
We understand that sometimes life gets in the way of having fun! As long as you call to notify us 1 day before your scheduled start time you will be able to get a full refund or reschedule your adventure for another day. In the event of a same day cancellation a $40 fee per room will apply.
3. When should we arrive?
You should arrive 5 minutes prior to the start of your escape. If you are more than 10 minutes late for your start time you will be able to reschedule your experience on another day.
4. What can we bring into the rooms?
Everything you need to break out of a room is already in the room. We do not allow pictures or videos of the rooms to be taken. We ask that you leave your cell phones in lockers in the main lobby so you can fully enjoy the experience without the distraction of the real world! Also, some rooms have magnets that could damage electronic equipment.
5. Do we need 6 people to participate?
We allow bookings of 2-6 people. We can squeeze an extra person into Supersoldier if needed! You can pay for the extra person when you arrive. 7 is the maximum allowed.
6. How hard are the rooms?
We have three levels of rooms. Novice Rooms have linear story lines, fewer puzzles and have a 35% escape rate. Intermediate Rooms do not follow a linear story line and the clues are harder to piece together and solve. Intermediate rooms often have hints in them that help you solve the most difficult situations. These rooms have a 30% escape rate. Expert Rooms are filled with puzzles and ciphers of varying degrees of difficulty. Expert rooms have a 25% success rate.
7. What if we get stuck?
If you hit a difficult spot in an escape adventure you can ask for a hint. You can ask for three hints and still get on the Wall of Fame if you escape in the top ten!
8. What ages are the adventures for?
All the escapes are family friendly and are suitable for all ages; however, the challenges are difficult for kids as they are designed for adults. Children younger than 13 often participate (especially with parents) but are required to have an adult with them. We love it when families come in together.
9. Do you allow walk-ins?
We accommodate walk-ins where possible, but we cannot guarantee that a time slot will be available. We suggest you book at least 1 day in advance.
10. Do we need to bring our confirmation email?
You do not need to bring along the confirmation email.
11. How long do the escapes take?
You have 45 minutes to complete each escape adventure. The entire experience lasts about one hour.
12. How often are the rooms changed?
Rooms are changed every 6-8 months, so a new adventure is always just around the corner!
13. Are there any physical requirements to participate?
All the rooms are handicap accessible and do not require special strength or fitness... only ingenuity! There may be some challenges that others in the group will need to perform... that's why you are a team :) If anyone has special medical conditions that would limit them from participating in an interactive escape adventure they should seek advice from their doctor. If you have a unique condition, we suggest you call us and we will help select the best room for you to enjoy your experience. We want everyone to enjoy The Great Escape - Lethbridge.
14. Can we share our experience with others after our adventure?
We will take a picture of you with our "We Escaped" sign or a "Fail" sign after each adventure. You can share the picture however you like. We ask that you do not reveal the secrets and solutions of the rooms to your friends and family as that will compromise their experience when they attend. Your help on this is strictly on the honor system... If you enjoyed the experience, please allow others to do the same.
15. What are the rules of the rooms?
a) Please do not use force that damages anything in the game room. There is no need to remove carpet, baseboard, wallpaper or ceiling tiles for any reason during the escape as all needed props are easily accessible. Please be gentle with the props and do not write on books, walls or furniture. b) All personal items, cellphones, wallets and purses must be turned off and placed in a locker provided during the escape. Everything you need to escape is in the room. c)Taking photos, videos, or recording of any kind during the game is prohibited. There will be an opportunity for a group photo and debrief after the game is over. d) If any player(s) refuse to abide by the rules, the operators of The Great Escape reserve the right to terminate the game session. e) Please do not spoil the game for others by disclosing clues, solutions and hints after the game. Remember that others in the lobby have not escaped yet! Tell others how much fun you had, but allow them the same experience you received.
